Pre-pet Counselling
The Most Important First Step is Choosing Your Dog

Thinking about getting a new pet?
Be prepared and set you and your dog up for success.
A dog is a commitment, there's no doubt about it, and bringing a new dog into the household can be exciting but stressful at the same time. It's critical that you put careful thought, consideration and planning into integrating your new addition into your family. A dog is not an impulse purchase - it will be an important and integral part of your family. A dog is for life.
Choosing an Adult Dog, Senior or new Puppy?
That's why you want to make sure that you're getting a dog that's the right fit for you and your family, and that you choose a dog to give it the best chance of health and happiness, right from the start.
The Pre-Pet Counselling session will cover a range of topics, plus any specific questions that you have.
- Why are you getting a dog?
- What are your expectations for the dog?
- What is the activity level of you and your family?
- Is an adult dog or puppy best suited for you?
- What breed will best suit your family?
- How to know if you're getting your puppy from a good breeder
- How to bring the dog into your home so there's less stress on everyone
- What you need for the new dog
- When to start training
- How to meet your dog or puppy's mental and physical needs
