How We Train
Be Amazed by Your Dog

Understand Your Dog and Build a Better Bond
Wouldn’t it be great if your dog came with a doggie translator? One that would tell you why your dog pulls, barks, lunges, chews, jumps, and nips and then how to fix it?
We bring dogs into our homes, and expect them to learn our language. But what about learning theirs as well?
This isn't typical obedience training for your dog, it’s about educating you and your dog. I go beyond sit and stay and teach you and your dog so much more - like how to stay with distractions, like Diesel is rocking on the left.
You want a dog that's Awesome not Ordinary!
- I train in the real world so you learn to handle all situations and distractions. You don’t walk your dog indoors, so why train there?
- Dogs need and look for a strong leader. Dogs look to us for rules, guidance, protection and of course the essentials to life such as good food, a cozy place to sleep and play time. Knowing how to be a leader to your dog and to be consistent are the keys to long lasting success.
- Understand your dog so you know why he does what he does and what he may be trying to tell you. Understand your dog's body language, which is the primary way that dogs communicate. I teach you how to educate your dog in a way your dog will understand.
- Together we explore what makes your dog tick and what his unique personality is. Once we figure out this, we will know how to address the issues your dog may have. We then come up with a plan designed just for you and your dog.
- Dogs need much more than exercise. They need mental stimulation. It’s one thing to try to tire your dog out with exercise, but you will see more changes in your dog when you get your dog to think.
- Learn how to truly communicate with your dog. Dogs learn by body language first and are learning from us every day whether we intend to teach them or not, so why don’t we learn to speak in their language!
- Turn that frustration into appreciation. Dogs are amazing animals, and when we understand our dogs, we also learn from them. They have just as much to teach us!
- Start building an amazing bond with your dog. When you earn your dog’s respect, you’ll see your relationship change with your dog.
- HAVE FUN! Training should be fun, not a drag. When you have fun, your dog has fun too!
My goal is to help you have a dog that you can take anywhere, a dog that's your best pal. I will help you see your dog differently.
Training Tools
All of my training is with a martingale collar and 6' leash along with praise for letting your dog know what a great job he's done. That's all.
- No treats, harsh collars such as prong and choke collars or haltis are permitted - all of which mask the dog's problems.
- I believe that the martingale collar is the best training collar for your dog. I teach you how to properly use a martingale collar to train your dog, and especially how to size it properly to keep your dog safe.
- I teach you how to train your dog using umbilical training with the leash around your waist. This not only helps you create a bond with your dog, but best of all, you can drink your coffee and train your dog at the same time!
- When you're having fun, your dog will too!
Training Services
I offer both Street Safety Training (group class) and Private sessions in your home. I also offer Pre Pet counselling because the most important first step is choosing the right pet for you and your family.
Let me help you see your dog in a different light. Raise the expectations of your dog and he will surprise you!
