They're HERE!! They're HERE!!

LW5802S_black_l_tI've been waiting a year, and they're HERE!

Lululemon has brought out this year's version of the Dog Walking pant - called the Dog Whispering Pant. The best...pants...ever.

If you have a dog, you must get these pants. For winter days, cold, wet, rainy, snow - these pants rock. They keep the wind out, keep you dry and wash up and look like brand new. I've never been in love as much with a pair of pants. I know - I sound crazy, but they're awesome!

Run, don't walk to Lululemon. These pants sell out! I got 2 pairs today, and am soooooo excited. This year they have a matching jacket too, so of course, couldn't not have the jacket (blush).

I wore mine all last winter - taught all my classes in them, and was never cold or wet. See, I love when companies think of how to fit the needs of the dog owner too!

I love taking pictures of my dogs. In fact, when I look through my photo albums, most of the pictures I take are of my dogs (sad I know, but no judgement!).

jake_possumI’m not a professional photographer by any means, but have taken enough photos to capture some amazing moments. Ok, I will admit that I have to take about 200 shots to get one amazing one!

Here are some tips for getting great pictures of your dog:

  1. Invest in a good camera. I actually switched to a digital SLR camera over a year ago, mainly because of shutter speed. Have you noticed how fast dogs are? With my old camera, by the time it took the picture, I had a great picture of grass! Uh, where’s the dog?? Gone.

I'm so excited to have finally launched my new site!

jake_gogol_teethMy Dog Rocks is about celebrating your dog and the amazing things he can do. Knowing who your dog is and appreciating him or her for that. You know that feeling you get when you finally understand someone? That lightbulb moment? Well, that's what I want for you and your dog.

Start by figuring out what your dog loves to do (napping doesn't count!). Then in celebration of the launch of My Dog Rocks, go out and do that with your dog. So if your dog loves to sniff like Diesel does, take your dog to a place she's never been before and let her take in all of the amazing new smells. If your dog is a social butterfly like Jake, go to a dog park you've never been to before and let him meet some brand new buddies.

Every day with your dog can be an amazing adventure - it's all up to you. And when life becomes a fun adventure for you and your dog, your dog will Rock too!

Dogs are amazing teachers, once we open ourselves up to learning. Not only can they teach us a thing or two but a critical part of dog education is them teaching each other.

dogs_teachingHere's my list of what I've learned from my dogs, and I apologize up front for the cliches!

  • Life's a party, everyday. Doesn't matter if it's raining, snowing, or if you find a little piece of fuzz. There's always fun to be had.
  • Life is short, don't hold a grudge. I've seen dogs have a little scuffle, shake it off, then they're back as friends. Why not forgive and forget!

Being green isn't just about reducing the impact on the environment, but making a difference in your wallet as well (and save having all that crap in your house).

To me, there isn’t anything more “green” than nature. By having dogs in my house (I have 2 dogs), I live with nature every day, even in downtown Toronto. We are on a very dangerous trend, in my opinion. The trend of the explosion of human products adopted for dogs. Dog owners spend billions on these things every year, and I find it all unnecessary. I’m the first one to make sure I have quality stuff for my dogs, but the excesses and the things that they don’t need really boggle my mind. Dog strollers are the first thing that come to mind. Ugh!! You can even paint your dog’s toenails.

Take a look at your dog. His needs are really quite simple.

Yes my dogs eat raw. Raw meat that is.

That's Diesel eating raw tripe, a sight I have to admit took me some time to get used to! Many people give me a double take when I tell them what I feed my dogs. I've been feeding raw for about a year and a half, and it is becoming more and more popular and available. I feed closest to the prey model. I don’t give supplements, fruits or veggies. It took a lot of research before I switched, as I did want to make sure I was doing the best for my dogs and wanted to have the confidence that I knew what to feed when I wasn’t measuring it out of a bag.

My dogs have bee doing very well on raw, and there are so many benefits.
